In a year where nothing turned out as supposed to, many of us found ourselves being at home. I had to postpone a lot of projects with choirs and orchestras this year, with festivals from Canada to South Africa. So when all the voices of choirs had stilled, all that was left was my piano. This music was written at home, inspired by what I saw through my window. The piano has always been my instrument, but I’ve been busy with larger projects for so many years that this was the first time everything was stripped down to the very intimate setting of a composer and his piano. And in a way, that was like coming home.
